Cupping
Cupping is an ancient healing therapy that some people use to ease pain. A provider places cups on your back, stomach, arms, legs or other parts of your body. It sends more blood to the area to stimulate the natural healing process.
Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils for certain benefits. The overall purpose of aromatherapy is meant to improve your physical and mental well-being.
Hot Stones
During a hot stone massage, smooth, flat, heated stones are placed on specific parts of your body. It’s used to help you relax and ease tense muscles and damaged soft tissues throughout your body.
Modalities
Every body is different. Consult with your therapist to curate a customized experience based on your needs.
Swedish
Relaxing rhythmic technique with light to firm pressure stimulates circulation, increases serotonin levels, reduces inflammation and removes toxins.
Deep Tissue
To alleviate muscle(s) in spasm, direct pressure is applied to the muscle for about 30 seconds with fingers, knuckles and elbows to encourage blood flow to the area, in an effort to “melt” the spasm away. Sessions are described as painful “in a good way”.
TMJ
Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders are usually the result of inflamed and painful chewing muscles around your jaw. A TMJ kneading massage provides constant, circular motion against the joints and muscles most affected by TMJ pain.
Pre-Natal
A prenatal massage is a full body massage performed by a certified prenatal massage therapist that is similar to a Swedish massage except for a few modifications with body positioning that can ensure the safety and comfort for both mother and baby.
Reflexology
In reflexology, pressure is applied to specific reflex points on the foot. Reflexology doesn’t just treat the feet. In addition to relieving toe pain, ankle strain, and other strains and pains you might be feeling, reflexology can help reduce stress throughout the entire body. It can even help improve your sleep.
Myofascial/Neuromuscular Release
Your therapist will gently massage the myofascia and feel for stiff or tightened areas. The therapist will begin massaging and stretching the areas that feel rigid with light manual pressure. The therapist then aids the tissue and supportive sheath in releasing pressure and tightness. Myofascial trigger points are easily identified as painful areas in a muscle. These microscopic changes occur in muscle fibers causing them to contract and chronically shorten. This is usually due to the overloading or incorrect loading of the muscle. One theory suggests that oxygen and nutrients that are supplied to the trigger point are constantly compromised.
Sports
From serious athletes to weekend warriors, adding elements of sports massage to your next session can enhance flexibility, help you recover from competition, and help prevent injuries from occurring.
Cranial Sacral
This technique is a gentle, noninvasive form of massage that addresses the bones and muscles of the head, spinal column, and sacrum to help reduce stress and pain.
Lymphatic Drainage Therapy for Post-Op & BBL
Some patients experience post-surgery accumulation of liquid or tissues beneath the skin that can harden. Resulting fibrosis can cause bruising or soreness. Lymphatic massage is a type of gentle massage that encourages blood flow and lymph drainage to help relieve this fibrosis. Once the lymph is drained, the re-absorption process begins. The waste tissue will be carried back toward the heart and, ultimately, naturally removed from the body. Lymphatic massage is a very safe and effective way to speed the healing process and improve comfort post-surgery.These types of massages have many other benefits, too, including detoxification, pain alleviation, and relaxation. Your immune system will also benefit from these massages, which is crucial during a post-operative time of healing.
