Swedish:  Relaxing rhythmic technique with light to firm pressure stimulates circulation, increases serotonin levels, reduces inflammation and removes toxins.

Sports:  Rehabilitates soft tissue dysfunction that can result from physical labor, fitness training, sports related ailments.  Specific techniques include:  stretching, kneading and compression.  Sports massage promotes flexibility, reduces swelling, relieves muscle tension, and reduces muscle fatigue.

Hot Stones:  Provides penetrating, radiant heat to meridians on the body to help alleviate tension from fascia, soft tissue and connective tissue.  Combined with the rhythmic technique of Swedish massage, hot stones can induce deep relaxation.

Neuromuscular and Deep Tissue:  To alleviate muscle(s) in spasm,  direct pressure is applied to the muscle for about 30 seconds with fingers, knuckles and elbows to encourage blood flow to the area, in an effort to “melt” the spasm away.  Accumulated lactic acid buildup in the offending muscle is thereby released into the blood, and dispersed from the area.  Sessions are described as painful “in a good way”.   Post massage soreness is common, but has great long-term relieving benefits.

Prenatal:  regular prenatal massages may not only help you relax, but may also relieve insomnia, joint pain, neck and back pain, leg cramping, and sciatica.  Additionally, it can reduce swelling in your hands and feet (as long as that swelling isn’t a result of preeclampsia), relieve carpal tunnel pain, and alleviate headaches and sinus congestion — all common pregnancy problems.  Massage may also lift depression without the use of medication, according to some scientific studies.

Cranial Sacral:  Primarily targets the central nervous system.  It is light to firm massage of the head that stimulates cerebrospinal fluid and helps it to flow more efficiently, removing symptoms of headaches or migraines. When the cerebrospinal fluid can flow correctly, other bodily processes are able to better function, thereby reducing pain and dysfunction and helping clients live with less stress and more ease.

Foot Detox and Massage:  This foot bath is very relaxing, while stimulating blood and energy flow to warm you. It strengthens weakened kidney function and is very helpful for insomnia. Your choice of aromatherapy: Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, or Chamomile.  Dead Sea Salts contain 21 minerals including magnesium, calcium, sulfur, bromide, iodine, sodium, zinc and potassium. These essential minerals naturally occur in our bodies but must be replenished, as they are lost throughout the day. After the soak you will receive foot reflexology which alleviates stress by manipulation of reflex trigger points.

Massage benefits

Ischemia: the lack of blood flow to soft tissues that causes hypersensitivity to touch.

Trigger points: highly irritated points in muscles that refer pain to other parts of the body.

Nerve entrapment/compression: pressure on a nerve by soft tissue, cartilage or bone.

Postural distortions: imbalance of the muscular system resulting from the movement of the body off the longitudinal and horizontal planes. Longtime poor postural habits are the most common cause of pain from this element.
